TEACHERS' VET DELAY.
HUNDREDS of teaching staff in Wales are still waiting to be vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau, it was revealed yesterday.
Cardiff County Council still has 120 unchecked members, Rhondda Cynon Taff 100 and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has 58.
A Cardiff council spokesman said: "All the schools are working as normal and we don't anticipate any problems."
A spokesman for Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council said more than 100 schools opened yesterday.
He said: "There is a lot of contact with schools.
"We always thought heads would do the best they could."
