TDK releases Bluetooth adaptor for laptops and desktop computers.
TDK Systems Europe, a unit of Japanese-based TDK Corp, has launched a Bluetooth universal serial bus (USB) adaptor designed to give laptop users cable-free access to e-mails and the Internet.
Part of TDK's Go Blue range of Bluetooth products, the new adaptor can also be used with desktop PCs to enable wireless printing and personal area networking with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. In addition the adaptor allows users to access intranet files when out of the office, provides automatic synchronisation of Palm devices, mobile phones and PCs and makes possible ad-hoc networking in wireless workgroup meetings.
The adaptor simply plugs into the USB port and clips on to the computer. Features include a special toolbox that enables users to establish security settings and locate other Bluetooth devices, compliance with the Bluetooth 1.1 standard and data transmission speeds of up to 721Kb/s.
The Go Blue USB adaptor for Windows 98/2000/ME/SE is available throughout Europe, priced at GBP99.
