TCW NAMES HENZE GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR, NEWMAN MANAGING DIRECTOR, SCHMITZ SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

 LOS ANGELES, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- TCW has named three new executives: Raymond F. Henze III has joined TCW as group managing director with responsibilities for TCW Capital and real estate; Kevin P. Newman as managing director and senior partner of TCW Capital; and Robert A. Schmitz as senior vice president and senior partner of TCW Capital. TCW Capital provides equity-related financing to corporations for acquisitions, expansion, management leveraged buyouts and capital restructurings.
 Prior to joining TCW, Henze served as a senior advisor to the company for more than one year. He was president of Pacific Holding Corporation for 11 years and has held positions as a senior officer and director of several publicly held companies, including Flexi-Van Corp. and Castle and Cooke Inc. Previously, he was an officer of Citibank based in New York, Los Angeles and Hong Kong.
 He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Williams College, where he is currently a trustee.
 Newman was most recently a managing director at The First Boston Corp. During his 15-year career at First Boston, Newman was co-head of the private placement group and specialized in the structuring and placement of equity, mezzanine and other non-traditional securities. He also served on the company's investment committee.
 He holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor's degree from Providence College.
 Before joining TCW, Schmitz served as a consultant, developing special investment opportunities for a joint venture affiliate of Soros Fund Management. Previously, he served as a vice president of Dow Jones & Co. and chairman and chief executive officer of its Richard D. Irwin book publishing subsidiary for seven years. He was formerly a partner of McKinsey & Co., a management consulting firm. During his 12-year career at McKinsey, he served clients in a wide range of industries and was responsible for the firm's corporate financial strategy practice.
 Schmitz received a master's degree in management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
