TCF NOW OFFERS PUTNAM MUTUAL FUNDS

 MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- TCF Financial Corporation (NYSE: TCB) (TCF) today announced that TCF Securities Inc., a subsidiary of TCF and TCF Financial Insurance Agency Inc., now offers Putnam Investments mutual funds as a broker dealer. The mutual fund products are available in TCF Bank Minnesota (TCF Bank) offices.
 According to TCF Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William A. Cooper, TCF chose Putnam because they are a well-established firm with quality mutual funds. "Our customers have been asking for a broad-based product line and Putnam gives us the full spectrum of mutual funds," said Cooper.
 TCF Securities Inc., will sell Putnam funds with investment objectives that include growth, growth and income, income, and tax-free income. The seven funds offered are Putnam Voyager Fund, The Putnam Fund for Growth and Income, Putnam Global Growth Fund, Putnam Utilities Growth and Income Fund, Putnam Municipal Income Fund, Putnam U.S. Government Income Trust, and Putnam Minnesota Tax Exempt Income Fund II.
 TCF has $5 billion in assets and 65 community banking offices in Minnesota. Deposits at TCF Bank are insured to $100,000 by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Mutual fund shares are not insured by the FDIC.
