TAYLOR TO RETIRE AS VICE PRESIDENT - ENGINEERING AT GEORGIA-PACIFIC; MILLIKAN NAMED SUCCESSOR

 ATLANTA, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Raymond H. Taylor, 63, vice president - engineering for Georgia-Pacific Corp. (NYSE: GP), has announced his intention to retire Dec. 31, 1993.
 Robert J. Millikan, 55, vice president - containerboard, will succeed Taylor as vice president - engineering and technology, pulp and paper, effective Jan. 1, 1994.
 Taylor has spent more than 40 years in the pulp and paper industry. He joined Georgia-Pacific in 1990 as vice president - Northern Paper, following the company's acquisition of Great Northern Nekoosa Corp., where he had served as a vice president. He was named Georgia-Pacific's vice president - engineering in 1991.
 "Ray's expertise and knowledge are recognized throughout our industry," W.E. Babin, executive vice president - pulp and paper, said. "His leadership has been an important factor in our engineering function during the past two years, and his service has made significant contributions to Georgia-Pacific."
 Millikan joined Georgia-Pacific in 1979 following the acquisition of Hudson Pulp and Paper Co. He served as production manager at the Palatka, Fla., pulp and paper mill, general manager at the Port Hudson, La., pulp and paper mill and manager of the company's Northern Pulp and Paper Division before being named director of southern pulp and paper manufacturing in 1988. In 1990, he was named vice president - manufacturing containerboard and then vice president - containerboard sales, logistics and information resources in 1991. He has served in his current position since 1992.
 "Bob will lead our effort to fully realize the productivity improvements available from advancing technology in the pulp and paper industry," Babin said.
