TAYLOR DEVICES, INC. AWARDED $2 MILLION SHOCK ABSORBER CONTRACT FOR MILITARY VEHICLES

 NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Army awarded a $2,053,000 contract to Taylor Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: TAYD), it was announced today by Douglas P. Taylor, President. "This order is for adaptive suspension struts to be used on tracked military vehicles. The Taylor suspension struts improve vehicle handling and speed capability in the off-highway environment and adapt their characteristics to meet varying terrain conditions," Mr. Taylor explained.
 "This is another example of Taylor's specialized scientific shock absorption technology which ranges from earthquake shock isolation devices to shock absorbing dampers for satellite launchings.
 "Production of the contract will be at the company's North Tonawanda plant over a period of three years, beginning immediately.
 "The rising high firm order backlog, now in excess of $9.8 million, representing firm orders in the aerospace, commercial and seismic markets, has encouraged management to implement its plans for expanding facilities in the western New York area, with a decision within the next 60 days," Mr. Taylor stated.
 Taylor Devices, Inc. currently employs 85 people at its North Tonawanda plant, and maintains offices in North Tonawanda, Rochester, New York, and Santa Monica, California.
