TATTOO HEALTH WARNINGS ON GAYS, SAYS REV.
HOMOSEXUAL men should be forced to have warnings about gay sex tattooed on their backsides, according to a chaplain.
The Rev Peter Mullen, 66, is facing calls to quit after suggesting that gay men's bottoms be branded with cigarette packet-style slogans like: "Sodomy can seriously damage your health."
On his internet blog, Rev Mullen, chaplain of the London Stock Exchange, said "obscene" gay pride parades and carnivals should be banned because they "corrupt" young people. Rev Mullen, also rector of St Michael's Cornhill and St Sepulchre without Newgate in the City, said sex education films at schools should highlight sodomy as a "filthy practice".
In his blog, he wrote: "We disapprove of homosexuality because it is clearly unnatural, a perversion and corruption of natural instincts and affections, and because it is a cause of fatal disease.
"Let us make it obligatory for homosexuals to have their backsides tattooed with the slogan, SODOMY CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH and their chins with FELLATIO KILLS." The rector also wrote a poem condemning the blessing of two gay priests, who he branded "puftas".
The Bishop of London slammed Rev Mullen's posts as "highly offensive".
And Peter Tatchell, of gay rights group OutRage!, said: "He should resign or be sacked. If he was mocking black or Jewish people, the Church would relieve him of his duties."
Rev Mullen claimed his postings were merely "light-hearted jokes", adding: "I certainly have nothing against homosexuals.
"Many of my dear friends have been and are of that persuasion. What I have got against them is the militant preaching of homosexuality."
