 TASTY BAKING BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTS JAMES F. MULLAN
 PHILADELPHIA, June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tasty Baking Company


(AMEX: TBC) board of directors, at its regular meeting today, elected James F. Mullan to the board.
 Mullan currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Phillips & Jacobs, Inc., a graphic arts subsidiary of Tasty Baking Company.
 Mullan joined Phillips & Jacobs, Inc. in 1970 as director of operations and in 1979 was promoted to vice president and general manager of the Phillips & Jacobs Chemical Division. In 1982, he was elected president and chief operating officer of Phillips & Jacobs, Inc. and to his current position in 1991.
 He holds an M.B.A. and a B.A. in political science from La Salle University, where he currently teaches in the M.B.A. program and formerly served as a member of the university's business advisory board. Mullan recently was named a distinguished alumnus of the La Salle M.B.A program. He also is associated with the Boy Scouts of America and CORA as co-chairperson for various functions, and recently has been recognized by the Boy Scouts for his efforts on its behalf.
 As the newest member of the Tasty Baking Company board of directors, Mullan joins: Philip J. Baur, chairman of the board; Nelson G. Harris, chairman of the executive committee; Fred C. Aldridge Jr., attorney, partner, Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young; James L. Everett III, retired chairman of the board, Philadelphia Electric Company; Myron S. Gelbach Jr., president, Militia Hill Company; Harold F. Still Jr., retired chairman of the board, Meridian Bancorp; Judith M. von Seldeneck, chief executive officer, Diversified Search Companies; Carl S. Watts, president and chief executive officer, Tasty Baking Company; John M. Pettine, vice president and chief financial officer, Tasty Baking Company; and W. Thacher Longstreth, retired from the board of directors in 1991, currently serving as director emeritus.
 Residing in Haddonfield, N.J., Mullan and his wife, Claire, are the parents of five: Anne, Jacqueline, James Jr., Laura and Jennifer.
