TARGETED GENETICS OPENS NEW RESEARCH AND ADMINISTRATION FACILITY

 SEATTLE, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Targeted Genetics Corp. (TGC) announced today the opening of its new gene therapy research and corporate headquarters complex in Seattle. The 25,000-square-foot complex includes research laboratories, a good manufacturing practice (GMP) laboratory and administrative facilities.
 "The opening of this facility reflects our continued commitment to research and develop effective gene therapy treatments for acquired and inherited diseases," said H. Stewart Parker, president and chief executive officer of TGC. "We are excited about the opening, and look forward to the day when we can provide integrated gene therapy treatments to patients."
 The TGC complex was designed by NBBJ Architects, Seattle, and constructed by Lease Crutcher Lewis, Seattle. It was formerly called the Smith Gandy building and was the center of many significant Seattle community events. The building is owned by Metropolitan Federal Savings & Loan Association of Seattle.

 Targeted Genetics Corp. is a leader in the development of integrated gene therapy treatments for acquired and inherited diseases. The company has begun its first Phase I trial, a gene therapy-based treatment for HIV infection.
