TARGET STORES' NEW 'CIRCO' LINE OFFERS COLORFUL 'PLAYWEAR WITH PERSONALITY' FOR KIDS

TARGET STORES' NEW 'CIRCO' LINE OFFERS
COLORFUL 'PLAYWEAR WITH PERSONALITY' FOR KIDS
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Target Stores announces the arrival of a new line of clothing for its infant and toddler departments, featuring bright colors, color blocking and prints with pizzazz. It's called "Circo," Italian for circus, and is available now exclusively at Target.
"Circo captures the spirit of what it's like to be a child," said Ron Johnson, merchandising manager of the Childrens Division for Target. "Childhood is a time of freedom, imagination, wonder and inspiration -- and parents want to nurture this spirit in their kids. Dressing infant and toddler boys and girls in fun, bright comfortable playwear is a way to do this. Kids love bright colors."
And parents will love the prices. Prices range from $4.99 all- cotton infant creepers to $9.99 fire-resistant infant sleepwear. Other Circo items, all within this price range, include sun dresses, scrompers and coordinate tops, bottoms and skirts. Sizes range from six months in infants to 4T in toddlers. The Circo line offers quality, durability and affordability -- which means parents will have fun with the clothes, too.
According to Johnson, the Circo line fills a niche among Target's other private-labelled clothing lines available in the infant and toddler departments. "Our 'Honors' line has dress-up clothes for special occasions, while our 'Trend Basics' line offers key-item basics like T-shirts. The 'Merona' line has classic styling with distinctive details," Johnson said. "But Circo offers fun playwear that kids will love and can wear every day."
Circo will be introduced to customers in Target's Feb. 16 weekly circular, which is distributed nationwide on Sundays. To coincide with the introduction of the new line, Target will introduce a plush Circo clown, for sale in its toy department.
Minneapolis-based Target Stores is an upscale discount department store chain of 463 stores in 32 states coast to coast, and the largest division of Dayton Hudson Corporation, one of the nation's leading retailers.
