TARDELLI: DRAWING FRANCE IS NOT AN ISSUE.
IRELAND fans are desperate to land France in tomorrow's Euro 2012 draw - but Giovanni Trapattoni and Marco Tardelli reckons it's time to bury the hatchet.
Tensions between the two countries remain high following November's controversial World Cup play-off defeat in Paris.
Ireland boss Trapattoni and his players have since got over that bitter defeat, with time proving to be a good healer.
But all those sore memories will come flooding back if Ireland are paired with 'Les Bleus' in the Warsaw draw.
Ireland assistant Tardelli wouldn't mind meeting France - but only to say a sarcastic 'thanks for nothing' to handball cheat Thierry Henry.
"I hope for France because I need to speak with Henry, I want to say 'thank you very much'," laughed the Italian.
But pressed further on the matter, Tardelli insists it's irrelevant if Ireland are drawn with France. And he reckons a line should be drawn under the whole sorry saga.
"It's finished," said Tardelli.
"Once the match is over, it's over.
We need to go forward and now we need to concentrate on finding new players."
Trapattoni - a recent target for Nigeria, Turkey and Juventus - will attend tomorrow's draw in Warsaw, but Tardelli will not. EURO 2012: SEE PAGE 59
