TAPPI 2002 Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony.
During the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony, the Association's highest honors, the Gunnar Nicholson Gold Medal and the Herman L. Joachim Distinguished Service Award will be presented and several new TAPPI Fellows will be recognized an honored later that day at the annual Fellows Luncheon.
The Gunnar Nicholson Gold Medal Award is given to an individual or individuals who have made preeminent scientific and engineering achievements of proven commercial benefit to the world's pulp, paper, board, and forest products industries and the other industries that TAPPI serves.
The TAPPI Herman L. Joachim Distinguished Service Award was established to recognize an individual for voluntary leadership and service that significantly and demonstrably contributed to the advancement of the Association.
TAPPI Fellow is an honorary title bestowed upon less than 1% of TAPPI's membership, and is given to individuals who have made extraordinary technical or service contributions to the industry and/or the Association.
