TAMBRANDS NAMES NEW PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Tambrands Inc.
(NYSE: TMB) today announced that Charles J. Chapman was elected president and chief operating officer of Tambrands and was appointed to the Tambrands board of directors.
Chapman, 53, was previously executive vice president of Tambrands, in charge of the company's business in North and South America. In his new position, Chapman will have responsibility for Tambrands' worldwide operations. He will report to Martin F. C. Emmett, chairman and chief executive officer. Commenting on Chapman's appointment, Emmett said, "Charlie Chapman is a strong, hands-on operating executive. He has proven his ability to increase profits in our established markets and to establish sound businesses in our developing markets. He has extensive experience in the consumer products industry, and he has a people-oriented style of leadership that builds teamwork." Chapman joined Tambrands in 1989. Previously, he spent the majority of his career in positions of increasing responsibility in marketing and general management at Chesebrough-Pond's Inc. and at RJR Nabisco, Inc., where he was president of Nabisco Brands North America. Chapman received his B.A. in economics from Dartmouth College and his M.B.A. in marketing from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration.
