TAM announces record operating data for September.


Brazilian airline TAM (BOVESPA:TAMM4) (NYSE:TAM) has declared its operating data for September 2008, which has been published by the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

TAM's domestic demand (RPK) was registered as a 15.0% increase with a 17.5% growth in domestic supply (ASK) compared to the same period in 2007. The domestic market share (RPK) was 52.8%, a rise of 4.8 percentage points over September 2007. Market demand within Brazil was up by 4.6% this year and market supply increased by 9.4%.

The airline's domestic load factor was 64.6%, 3.4 percentage points higher than the market average of 61.3%.

In the international market, TAM registered 41.5% growth in RPK and 25.4% in ASK, it gained a market share of 82.1%, representing 11.8 percentage points of growth year on year.

TAM achieved an international load factor of 80.4%, up 4.7 percentage points on the market average of 75.7%.
