TALLY(TM) REWARD PROGRAM TO BE DISCONTINUED
 NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tally(TM) Reward

Program, a joint venture of BellSouth Enterprises, Inc. and Carlson Marketing Group, will soon discontinue operations in the Nashville area.
The Tally Program, a customer loyalty program introduced throughout the metropolitan area last year, rewards consumers by awarding points for purchases made at participating merchant locations.
Though the program is ending, consumers will not lose the value of their accumulated points. Points may continue to be earned until March 10, and consumers may redeem points for catalog awards under normal procedures through May 30. Consumers who have not accumulated enough points to redeem from the catalog will receive coupons which may be redeemed at participating merchant locations.
Details concerning the final disposition of point balances will be provided in the consumers' final account statement which will be mailed in April. These statements will reflect any account activity through March 10.
"Nashville was the introductory market for the Tally Program and as with any new product or service, one of the risks is that the product will not perform as well as desired," said Gary L. Prophitt, president of BellSouth Marketing Programs. "What we have found is that the Tally Program is a good concept that may need additional refinement."
BellSouth Enterprises is a subsidiary of BellSouth Corporation (NYSE: BLS), an Atlanta-based international telecommunications holding company. Carlson Marketing Group is part of the Carlson Companies, an international marketing organization that develops programs for its clients to motivate consumers, dealers and employers. It is headquartered in Minneapolis.
