TALLAGHT TO HOST GRIDIRON.

Byline: PAUL O'HEHIR

AMERICAN Football is coming to Tallaght Stadium this summer.

But unlike Wembley's annual conversion into a grid-iron venue, it won't be for a heavyweight NFL clash.

Instead, the 'Shamrock Bowl' will be played at the South County Dublin venue on Sunday, August 8. That's the championship game of the Irish American Football League.

And it's the first time the Shamrock Bowl will be played in Dublin since 2006.

Tallaght Stadium has hosted a variety of sporting events since it opened last year.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have played there as have the Ireland 'A' rugby team.

Shamrock Rovers host bitter rivals Bohemians at Tallaght Stadium two days before the American football showpiece.
