 TADIRAN ELECTS ARIEH GANS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 HOLON, Israel, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Tadiran Limited (NYSE: TAD),


the Israel-based electronics and telecommunications company, announced today that Arieh Gans was elected to its board of directors and will serve as chairman of its finance committee. Mr. Gans, 57, is the chief accounting officer of Koor Industries Limited, Israel's largest industrial company, which owns approximately 60 percent of Tadiran's ordinary shares. He serves as a director of several of Koor's subsidiaries, including Makhteshim Chemical Works Ltd. and Agan Chemical Manufacturers Ltd. Mr. Gans was Koor's deputy chief finance officer from 1981 to 1988.
 Mr. Gans' election to the board is effective immediately. It took place yesterday at an extraordinary general meeting of Tadiran shareholders to fill the vacancy on the board created when Yitzhak Forer resigned as a director last August. Mr. Forer had also been chairman of the finance committee. In the only other business at the meeting, shareholders approved an insurance policy covering directors and officers for public offerings of securities.
 Tadiran designs, develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of sophisticated telecommunications equipment, defense electronic systems and computer software products, which are sold to customers in more than 50 countries. In addition, Tadiran is one of the largest manufacturers of air conditioners and refrigerators in Israel and is a leading manufacturer of lithium thionyl chloride batteries.
