TADIRAN AND ERICSSON GE MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS SIGN THREE-YEAR, $27 MILLION AGREEMENT

 HOLON, Israel, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Tadiran Ltd. (Israel) (NYSE: TAD) and Ericsson GE Mobile Communications Inc., USA (EGE), have entered into an agreement for the supply to EGE of Rechargeable "AA" Lithium Metal Batteries (RLB) developed and manufactured by the Tadiran Battery Division, in the aggregate amount of US $27 million over a three-year period.
 EGE intends to designate the batteries for use in its mobile cellular telephones.
 Tadiran Battery Division conducts various research projects. The Rechargeable Lithium Metal Battery was developed over a four-year period by Tadiran's Battery Division, which is the major technology center in Israel for research and development of portable energy sources. The new battery technology is considered in all respects a technological breakthrough regarding such energy sources, in particular in the area of cellular telephones and portable computers.
 The Tadiran Battery Division is engaged in the business of Lithium, Silver Zinc and Alkaline batteries.
 Tadiran designs, develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of sophisticated telecommunications equipment, defense electronic systems and computer software products, which are sold to customers in more than 50 countries.
