T CELL SCIENCES NAMES DAVID W. MITCHELL VP, PHARMACEUTICAL DEVELOPMENT
 CAMBRIDGE, Mass., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- T Cell Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: TCEL) today announced that David W. Mitchell, Ph.D., formerly associate director, fermentation at Chiron Corporation, has joined T Cell Sciences as vice president, pharmaceutical development.
 From 1986 to 1992, Dr. Mitchell was associate director of fermentation at Chiron, where he substantially advanced and improved the manufacturing capabilities for that company. Previously, Dr. Mitchell was senior fermentation development scientist/engineer at Abbott Laboratories, from 1977 to 1986. Dr. Mitchell received a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Cornell University in 1977, an M.S. from Dartmouth College in 1974 and an A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1972.
 "David's significant expertise in developing manufacturing processes for biopharmaceutical companies will be of great value to T Cell Sciences as we begin to increase our production capabilities," said Alan W. Tuck, president and chief executive officer of T Cell Sciences. "His contributions will be crucial as we develop manufacturing strategies for the Monogen(tm) monoclonal antibody and Peptigen(tm) peptide products for autoimmune diseases being developed with Astra."
