System and corpus; exploring connections.

Ed. by Geoff Thompson and Susan Hunston.

Equinox Publishing Limited

326 pages

A dozen contributions from international academics explore the consequences for systemic functional linguistics of practical and theoretical developments of corpus linguistics, and vice versa. The editors provide an overview of both of these approaches to language description in the introduction. The papers were originally presented at the 29th International Systemic Functional Congress, held at the U. of Liverpool in July 2002. The volume is distributed in the U.S. by the David Brown Book Company.
