System Builders and Resellers Recognize Phoenix Technologies for Innovative Software Products, Marketing and Support Programs; Phoenix Award-Winning Software Platform Helps System Builders Differentiate Their Offerings.

MILPITAS, Calif. -- Phoenix Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:PTEC) took home top honors at two recent industry events for system builders, resellers, and solution providers, winning three awards and two nominations for its channel marketing programs and innovative PC recovery software.

At IT ChannelVision(TM) Spring 2005, an event for the leading North American resellers, enterprise solution providers and system builders, attendees selected Phoenix Recover Pro(TM) 2004 for a "Best of IT ChannelVision Award(TM)" in the system builder software category. At the System Builder Summit(TM) Europe Spring 2005 event, Phoenix was recognized by attendees with two "Best of System Builder Summit Europe Awards"(TM), for best marketing program and best presentation, and was a finalist in the best vendor and best software product categories. Both events were produced by Vision Events(R), a Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB) company, in May.

"As a member of the Phoenix Trusted Partner Network, UNIKA recognizes the powerful combination of Phoenix's quality products and strong commitment to partner success," said Cheikh Mbaye, UNIKA marketing manager. "We have shipped the Phoenix Recover Pro software in more than 100,000 PCs over the past year, and our customers are very pleased with its capabilities."

At the events, Phoenix demonstrated its latest software advancements to help channel partners create devices that are secure and reliable from the start. This included Phoenix TrustedCore(TM) firmware, which is used in the vast majority of the world's PCs, and the Phoenix TrustConnector(TM) device authentication solution, which helps prevent rogue end point devices from infecting corporate networks. Phoenix also showcased Recover Pro 2004, its built-in recovery software product that allows users to easily restore their data, applications and systems in the case of a virus or other infection, even if the operating system won't boot.

"Our channel partners do business in a highly competitive environment, and Phoenix has always focused on helping them to differentiate their offerings through technology innovation and effective marketing programs," said Michael D. Goldgof, senior vice president and general manager of the Corporate Marketing and Products Division at Phoenix Technologies. "It's very gratifying to be recognized by our customers for the collaboration that allows all of us to further our business progress."
