Syringe robber in HIV threat.

POLICE are studying security camera footage to catch a mugger who threatens his victims with a blood-filled syringe, claiming it is HIV positive.

The man, who draws blood from his arm during the attacks, struck for the fourth time in a week, at a Barclays cashpoint in Gillingham, Kent.

The other incidents were on trains in Kent. On one occasion he abducted a 16-year-old and took him to a cashpoint where he forced him to withdraw cash. A police spokesman said: "We don't know if the blood in the syringe is HIV positive."
