Syrian Women Orient's Band Performs at al-Miskyyeh Square.

Damascus, (SANA) -- The Syrian Women Orient's Band on Saturday performed a concert at al-Miskyyeh Square in the Old City in the framework of the music project 'Music on Road which is held by Sada Association in cooperation with Damascus Governorate.Musicians of the band charmed the huge audience, playing oriental music pieces.

Artist Meray Bittar sang unforgettable songs form the Syrian heritage.

Manager and Kanun player Dima Mawazini told SANA that the project constitutes an invitation for the ambitious women to build a more beautiful world."Our art project covers different types of our musical heritage as we are trying to recompose the musical pieces with a feminine sense, and we are looking forward for a better future," said Dima .The band consists of Kanun player Dima Mawazini, violist Razan Qassar, oud player Rihab Azar, viola player Raghad Hadda, cellist Rana Ejalyaqin, percussionist Khisab Khalid, nai player Wafa Safar, contrabass player Leila Saleh and singer Meray Bittar.

The band was established in 2003, presenting several concerts on a number of important Syrian stages.

The band also holds an annual concert on World Woman Day.R.
