Syrian Army Thwarts Western, Regional Plots to Overthrow Assad Gov't.
Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army managed to establish full security in Southern Damascus, foiling the western and regional states' long-time plan to capture the capital, analysts said.
Analysts believe that liberation of Hajar al-Aswad region and Yarmouk refugee camp in Southern Damascus and establishment of security in the capital and nearby areas after 6 years is a strategic achievement which thwarted the plots hatched by the western states and the regional supporters of the terrorist groups to infiltrate in Damascus and overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
They added that the victory was attained after the domino to end the terrorists' presence started in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and spread to other strongholds of the militants in Eastern Qalamoun as well as the towns of Yalda, Babila and Beit Saham in Southern Damascus.
The Syrian army troops launched fresh attacks on the remaining pockets of ISIL terrorists and drove them completely out of Hajar al-Aswad region after a humanitarian ceasefire ended in the Southern part of Damascus province on Monday.
The army men resumed operations against the ISIL terrorists trapped in a small area North of Hajar al-Aswad and freed the entire buildings in Hajar al-Aswad after a humanitarian truce ended.
The army's artillery and missile units and aircraft had pounded the remaining positions of ISIL in Hajar al-Aswad and paved way for the army's rapid advance.
Local sources reported that Hajar al-Aswad region is now under the full control of the army men.
