Syrian Ambassador to Kuwait sworn in before President Al-Assad.

DAMASCUS, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- The Syrian Ambassador to Kuwait Bassam Abdul

Majid was sworn in before the President Bashar Al-Assad on Sunday, a

presidential statement said. President Al-Assad wished the Ambassador success in his new post and gave

him some pointers after the ceremony with the Foreign Minister Walid

Al-Moallem present. Abdul Majid was once Interior Minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister

Muhammad Naji Al-Utri and he stepped out after President Al-Assad ordered a

cabinet reshuffle. Said Muhammad Sammur was appointed as Interior Minister instead of Abdul

Majid and the latter was appointed Ambassador instead of Ali Abdulkarim who

was re-located to serve in Lebanon, the presidential statement added. The Syrian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mahdi Dakhlallah was also sworn in

today before the President. Dakhlallah was Information Minister and he stepped out after the same

reshuffle and Mohsen Bilal was appointed instead. The Kuwaiti Ambassador to Syria Abdulaziz Rahim Al-Deyhani had on his part

submitted his credentials to President Al-Assad earlier this month.
