Syria: Terrorists Fail to Prevail over Gov't Positions in Lattakia's Kinsibba.
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army pushed back a powerful counterattack of the terrorist groups after they captured Kinsibba in Northern Lattakia near the border with Turkey.
The Syrian government forces' missile and artillery units shelled the terrorist groups' positions and fended off their large-scale offensive on the army strongholds in the newly-captured Kinsibba region and Shillif hill near the town of Kinsibba.
The militants suffered a heavy death toll and their military hardware sustained major damage in the failed counterattacks.
Battlefield sources Sunday refuted the terrorists' claims about advancing in Northern Lattakia, and underlined the government forces' full control over the newly-liberated town of Kinsibba.
"The Syrian government forces repelled the offensive of the terrorist groups to recapture Kinsibba, which ended in the killing of at least 120 militants and wounding of many more," the sources said, adding, "Terrorist left behind their military equipment and retreated from the battlefield."
"Kinsibba in under the full control of Syrian government forces," the sources underlined.
