Sykes boosted by Spain tests; MOTORSPORT.

WARWICKSHIRE'S Tom Sykes is looking to get his title aspirations back on track at Motorland Aragon this Sunday following an encouraging test at the Spanish circuit.

The Leamington racer sits third in the standings, 46 points behind Max Biaggi, and racked up 81 laps on the second day of testing last week.

That amounted to almost four race distances and allowed Sykes and his Kawasaki team to work through set-up options for this weekend.

Sykes, who has taken five pole positions so far this season, said: "On day two all the bikes going round got rid of the car tyre rubber and the track cleaned up nicely. We tried a long list of things on the bike and we got through everything.

"That was down to good organisation from my guys and we managed to make it count. We did a lot of testing but that's what we are here for."
