Swop plants.

A plant swop is being organised for green-fingered residents in West Middlesbrough.

West Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Trust has teamed up with Middlesbrough Council to invite residents to take spare or unwanted flowers and swop them for the plants they need for their gardens.

The swops form part of two free events for residents at Laycock Park tomorrow and at Carter Park next Wednesday.

Both events also include crafts by Willow Work and the Teesside Turners, coconut shies and hoopla.

Joan Ford, chairman of WMNT, said: "We would love to see residents at these events as we want as many people as possible to celebrate the wonderful green spaces we enjoy in West Middlesbrough."

WMNT has transformed the two parks from under-used areas into green spaces.

The event at Laycock Park runs from 11am until 2pm and at Carter Park from noon until 2pm.
