Swivel Technologies Demonstrates Truly Secure, Anytime, Anywhere Authentication at DEMOmobile 2003; Partnership with Aventail Provides Mobile Workforce with Secure, Clientless Access to Corporate Networks.

LA JOLLA, Calif., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at DEMOmobile 2003, Swivel Technologies Ltd., a mobile authentication software development company based in London, will introduce PINsafe(TM) M2F V 2.0, a mobile, two-factor authentication solution. Swivel will demonstrate PINsafe M2F in conjunction with its partner Aventail Corporation's EX-1500 SSL VPN appliance as part of that company's End Point Control (EPC) SSL VPN initiative.

PINsafe M2F, Swivel's newest mobile two-factor authentication solution, provides users with a unique, one-time code (based on an assigned 4 digit pin) each time they need to access secure network resources or services. PINsafe operates with mobile phones using either SMS or a Java application (for devices that support the latest 2.5 and 3G cellular technology).

Swivel is participating in Aventail's EPC initiative to help organizations control remote access policy not just based on a user's identity, but also on their environment and level of risk. The companies have teamed up to increase security from a wide range of access points, leveraging Aventail's EX 1500 family of SSL VPN appliances and Swivel's PINsafe clientless authentication technology.

During DEMOmobile 2003, Swivel will demonstrate a live authentication event by using a cell phone as the authentication token to access a secure corporate network via the EX-1500 SSL VPN appliance. The demonstration will show how a security string delivered to the cell phone can be used to generate a one-time code and enable access from a standard Web browser.
