Switzer part of HealthAlliance care team.


Dr. Bradley A. Switzer has joined the cancer care team at the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center at HealthAlliance Hospital -Burbank Campus in Fitchburg. He is a member of the UMass Memorial Medical Group and is seeing hematology and medical oncology patients at the Cancer Center.

Dr. Switzer received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center, where he served as chief internal medicine resident. He also completed a clinical fellowship in oncology and hematology at UMass Memorial Medical Center, where he was the chief fellow and is currently an assistant professor in medicine.

He has been recognized for his contributions related to leadership, teaching research and administrative and clinical innovations. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and the American College of Physicians, as well as a member of the Diplomats of the American Board of Medicine. He has served as an intensivist and hospitalist at campuses throughout the UMass Memorial Health Care system.

In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2012, Milford Regional Medical Center invites the public to view one of three displays that will be set up from Aug. 6 through 10 throughout the medical center. The displays will have information to take, and anyone who visits one of the displays can enter a free drawing. First prize is a Purely Yours ultra double electric breast pump (donated by the Ameda Corp.). The second prize will be a Harmony manual pump from Medela and the third prize will be an Ameda Cool and Carry breast milk storage system. The drawing will be on Aug. 10 and the winner need not be present. The names and phone numbers collected for the drawing are for the drawing only and will not be shared with outside interests or companies.

Staff members from the Vista Care Hospice office will be blanketing Central and Eastern Massachusetts throughout August. They will be distributing food collection bags and gathering donations for MetroWest pantries as part of the company's Eighth Annual Food Drive.

As part of the Gentiva Health Services family of home health and hospice providers, employees at the Vista Care Hospice Southboro office and their fellow employees around the country are placing the food collection bags at various health care facilities in their respective communities and will collect them during the entire month of August.
