Considering just how much time we spend in our four wheels in this town, keeping the interiors of our cars clean and disease-free should be of prime importance. Sharp has introduced what it calls Plasmacluster Car Ion Generator, a small coke can-sized tube that removes airborne allergens, cigarette and seat smells.
Designed to fit snugly into our car cup holder, the ion generator consumes very less power and needs to be charged only once ever few months. Now available in the UAE for Dh300.
So long MSN Messenger
Still stuck in a time warp? If you are and are holding on for dear life to your MSN Messenger IM, well, change is gonna come. Microsoft has confirmed that it will discontinue its messenger service in the first quarter of 2013, reports thenextweb.com. The company wants to integrate its existing 100 million+ Messenger users into its Skype network, which has around 280 million active users currently. Of course, this will also help justify the $8.5 billion Microsoft paid for Skype and sofly lay into the ground Messenger with its declining user base. To migrate, all Messenger users have to do is log on to Skype with your Microsoft account and all your contacts will be in place. UAE Skype users can still log on via their smartphones.

Nokia builds Lumia exitement
Nokia is all set to unleash its Lumia range of Windows Phone powered smartphones in the UAE. We're keeping our eyes firmly on the Lumia 920, its flagship number with a supposedly better-than-HD resolution and mighty camera, which earlier reviewers have called a little bit of magic. We were very impressed with what we saw and felt but we'll report back as soon as we get our proper hands-on time with it. No pricing info yet.
