Swissair gets purchase approval.

Swissair has been given approval to buy a stake in Transbrasil Airlines, claims reports from Brazil.

A final decision has yet to be taken over a purchase plan but Swissair is understood to be looking for a 'toe hold' rather than a major stake in the venture.

Brazilian law, however, forbids foreign firms from owning more than 20% of a national airline.
