AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2011 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Cathay Pacific Airways on Monday announced that its sister airline Dragonair and Swire Hotels have announced the hotel group's participation in FLY greener, the airlines' carbon offset programme.

From 1 June 2011 Marco Polo Club members traveling on a Cathay Pacific or Dragonair flight and staying at a Swire Hotel will be able to offset the carbon emissions from their inbound flight.

Swire Hotels will purchase carbon offsets from FLY greener to help support the development of environmental projects in Mainland China that reduce carbon emissions and generate social benefits.

Benefits for Marco Polo Club members will begin with The Opposite House in Beijing and the Upper House in Hong Kong.
