Swifts defy the elements to book place in swifts defy the elements to book place in semi-final of the Holliday Cup.

LINDLEY SWIFTS beat the weather and then Meltham All Blacks to power into the semi-final of the Holliday Cup. The Pennine League First Division side proved too strong for their Division VI West visitors to secure a 26-2 triumph.

They will now play either holders Newsome Panthers or Underbank Rangers in the last four, with their quarter-final tie having fallen victim to the latest icy blast.

That was also the case for St Joseph's or Emley Moor, who's game was also postponed.

The winners of that tie will host Slaithwaite Saracens, whose Division V home fixture against Moorends Thorne Marauders was another to be called off.
