Sweet talking; Assembly Westgate.

HOW much does Peter Black AM want a full Cabinet seat?

That was the question being asked around the Assembly this week, with the release of the South Wales West member's latest instalment of his diary.

Among fascinating anecdotes about his insecurity and fear of rejection at elections (occupational hazard for politicians, Peter), there is also a real candidate for an Order of the Brown Nose award.

Mr Black writes, "On Thursday, I attended the introduction of a life-size painting of Colin Jackson at the Assembly.

"Rhodri Morgan spoke in the presence of Colin Jackson, whom he described as the greatest Welsh athlete of all time.

"The depth of Rhodri Morgan's knowledge is breathtaking and as I listened to him recount the record of every great Welsh athlete in the last 30 or so years, I wondered how he finds the time to learn it."

You would be hard pressed to find a clearer indication that a reshuffle is in the offing.
