Sweet Sensations.

Sweet Sensations Owners: Dale and Diane Douglas Address: 300 S. University Ave., Little Rock, 72205, 666-3328 Start-up date: August

Diane Douglas says she and her husband, Dale, have taken the snack items people love most and put them in one store, Sweet Sensations in Little Rock's University Mall.

They should know what the public wants. They own six franchises of Tropic Sun Fruit and Nut, a Carmels and Corn store and a hamburger shop called DD's Place.

Sweet Sensations sells popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream and yogurt.

According to Douglas, the most unique item is the "Hawaiian Julep," a creamy, frozen drink that comes in seven fruit flavors.

Douglas says all of the businesses she and her husband own are in malls. They plan to open another Sweet Sensations in North Little Rock's McCain Mall in the next month.

With start-up costs of $20,000, Douglas says mall locations, which require little renovation, are the best value.

The couple is considering selling franchises of Sweet Sensations. They have been approached by interested parties from Arkansas and Texas.
