Sweet Lamb back on menu for Plains Rally; RALLYING.
Supported by SJR Motorsport, the rally will be based once again in Welshpool and new for 2012 scrutineering will take place in Welshpool town centre.
The main change to the route for this year sees the event return to Sweet Lamb. In the early 1990s the Plains was one of the first rallies to utilise the venue and the event was twice won by Sweet Lamb owner Jon Bennett-Evans.
For 2012 the Plains will link two well known Welsh stages in Hafren by visiting Sweet Lamb for service and then a short stage.
Clerk of the course Graham Raeburn said: "Last year all the competitors were praising the Hafren stage, so for 2012 we will have two stages in Hafren for them, enabling this is having the service area in Sweet Lamb, where service crews will also be able to view the stage along with the spectators we will welcome to Sweet Lamb."
For an entry fee of pounds 425, competitors will get classic stages in Gartheiniog, Dyfi, Hafren, Sweet Lamb and finishing with a new lay-out run through SJR Motorsport's Woodyard venue.
