Swedish way of banking opens up.

THE 32nd UK branch of Swedish bank, Svenska Handelsbanken, has declared itself open for business in Tees Valley.

Headed by Chris Teasdale, the hand picked team of senior bankers, all from the Tees Valley, has a combined 100 years of financial expertise to offer local businesses from its Winder House base on Kingfisher Way, Stockton.

Tom Ramshaw and Sean Carey, both senior corporate managers, accompanied by John Martinson, private banking manager, have joined Handelsbanken from another local high street bank. Paul Airey joins as office manager and a further graduate level appointment is to be finalised next month.

The bank first announced its intentions to locate a branch in Tees Valley in April.

Since then, branch manager, Chris Teasdale, has been hard at work selecting a team to establish the bank as a major player within the local commercial and financial sector. Svenska Handelsbanken employs more than 10,000 staff throughout the world and is a household brand in its native Sweden.
