Swedish technology group Hexagon AB said on Thursday (7 February) that it has agreed to acquire the US companies Surveyors Service Company and Haselbach Surveying Instruments.

The financial details of the acquisitiones were not disclosed.

The two companies, based in Los Angeles and San Francisco respectively, distribute and provide services for surveying equipment in the southwestern US. The companies have a total of 50 employees and a combined turnover of over SEK110m. Excluding inter-company sales the acquisition will strengthen Hexagon's sales by some SEK75m.

"Both companies are important elements in Hexagon's global growth strategy in the core surveying and construction markets. With these two acquisitions plus the actions we undertook in 2007, we are continuing to establish a solid foundation for Hexagon's macro business in the region," commented Ola Rollen, president and CEO of Hexagon.

Hexagon, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a global measurement technologies and polymers company with 10,000 employees in 30 countries and with net sales of approximately SEK15bn. The company is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.66 Swedish kronor (SEK).
