Swedish production machines developer KMT Group wins order from Boeing.
Swedish production machines developer and manufacturer Karolin Machine Tool AB (KMT Group) announced on Monday (20 November) that its subsidiary KMT Cutting Systems AB has won a prestigious order from Boeing Co (NYSE:BA).
The order covers the construction, delivery and installation of a complete robotised abrasive waterjet cutting system for Boeing's plant in Auburn, Washington in the US.
"The new Boeing order includes additional equipment, fixtures and programs for machining of details in titanium alloys used in the engine nacelles of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner," said Ulf Andersson, project manager for KMT Cutting Systems.
"The new Boeing order represents a major success in the ongoing business development programmed at KMT Cutting Systems, to expand the company's products and service solutions into other markets beyond its traditional stronghold in the global automotive industry," Andersson added.
The financial value of the order was not disclosed.
KMT Group, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, develops and manufactures advanced production machines and system solutions for the engineering industry. KMT is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
