Swedish consulting group SWECO said on Thursday (7 February) that it has won a SEK4m assignment from the Swedish harbour operator Ports of Stockholm.

The contract covers preconstruction planning in connection with the continued expansion of the port of Stockholm-Nynashamn at Norvikudden.

SWECO's share of the project includes civil engineering design, structural design, landscape architecture and building design.

The new port will be built in stages and is planned for completion in 2020.

SWECO, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is the Nordic region's leading consulting group with offices in the Nordic countries, Russia, Bulgaria, Estonia and Lithuania. The group has 5,300 employees involved in projects in 75 countries and reported sales of approximately SEK4.6bn in 2007. SWECO is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.66 Swedish kronor (SEK).
