Swedish cargo handling equipment maker Kalmar Industries AB, part of Cargotec Corporation, said on Wednesday (6 February) that it has received an order from Martens Beton, one of the Benelux region's suppliers of concrete products, for a total of 14 forklift trucks (FLTs).

The delivery will be made to the company's production facility in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, in early 2008, Kalmar said.

The order will give Kalmar its debut in the Benelux concrete industry, the company added.

No financial information was provided.

Kalmar is a global provider of container and heavy duty materials handling equipment, automation applications and related services. The company's production plants are situated in Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Malaysia, China and the US.

Cargotec Corporation provides cargo handling solutions which are used in local transportation, terminals, ports, distribution centres and ships. In 2006 Cargotec's net sales exceeded EUR2.6bn and the company employs some 8,000 people in more than 160 countries. Cargotec is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.34 euros (EUR).
