Suzuki announces pricing for 1996 Swift.

BREA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 1996--American Suzuki Motor Corp. Friday announced manufacturer's suggested retail pricing for its Swift Three-Door Hatchback, effective March 6.

Beginning at $8,999 for the five-speed manual-transmission model, the Swift is equipped with a responsive 1.3-liter, four-cylinder engine, and features dual airbags, daytime running lights and dual outside mirrors among its standard equipment.

With the addition of four-wheel anti-lock brakes, the Swift is still attractively priced at $9,559 -- less than half the average price of a brand-new car. The new pricing represents a $300, or approximately 3 percent, increase over 1995 prices.

The value of the Swift as an affordable, reliable, sporty- looking car is further enhanced by its appeal as an economical commuter vehicle. Boasting an impressive 43-mpg highway/39-mpg city with manual transmission, the Swift is recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as one of the most fuel- efficient cars on the road today.

The interior of the Swift gets an updated look with new upholstery for 1996. On the outside, two new, eye-catching colors join its current exterior color palette.

The Swift, which is manufactured at Suzuki's CAMI facility in Ingersoll, Ontario, is covered by a 36-month/36,000-mile new-vehicle limited warranty.
