Hu (Nanchang University, China) presents selected, peer-reviewed papers from a September 2011 conference. Researchers report on the latest process improvements in green building materials, smart materials, energy-saving construction, and new products. Papers are in sections on sustainable construction materials technology, materials science in computer-aided manufacturing and design, and advanced testing and measurement. Some specific topics addressed include a three-dimensional model of droplet imprinting and suspension on a substrate, a data driven modeling and simulation methodology for an automotive assembly plant, parametric optimization design on a mine carrier robot, and ultrasonic detection for bonding quality of thin plates based on fuzzy pattern recognition. Other subjects include signal decomposition for a three-axis gyroscope, thermal analysis of a hot runner system for injection molding, design hierarchical testing for unmanned ground vehicles, and an ultraviolet spectroscopy method for classifying vinegars. An error sensing strategy is described for active structural acoustic control based on acoustic radiation modes, and an error analysis method for interferometric testing is presented.
