Suspended midwife to face job [...].

Suspended midwife to face job hearing A MIDWIFE investigated over her care of more than 20 mums and babies will face a hearing to see if she will be allowed to practise again.

Kirsteen Stewart was suspended in 2010 for 18 months - later extended - after she was accused of mispractice by colleagues at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.

Criminal proceedings were dropped but Stewart, 45, of Newmachar, Aberdeenshire, was suspended by the Nursing and Midwifery Council during an inquiry.

It is understood to have focused on the number of emergency Caesarean sections carried out and concerns about babies.

The NMC hearing is due to begin on December 8.
