Suspect in Filipino woman's murder held.
Byline: Faiz Al-MazroueiDAMMAM: A 32-year-old Egyptian expatriate reportedly confessed to killing a Filipino waitress he had illegally impregnated, local police said yesterday.
The suspect also confessed to dumping the woman's body into a septic tank in the compound in which he lived, said Col. Yousuf Al-Qahtani, spokesman for the Eastern Province police.
He said officials at Al-Niairiyah police station received a complaint that a Filipino woman who worked as a waitress in the catering section of a local hospital was missing.
A police team, including forensic experts, assigned to investigate the case uncovered the crime and tracked down the suspect.
The suspect allegedly confessed that he strangled the woman and threw her body in the septic tank.
Al-Qahtani said the confession was being verified to complete procedures for his trial.
Police are withholding the names of both the murder suspect and the victim.
