Surveying mental health nurses.
CHAIR OF NZNO's mental health nurses section Marie Crowe (a senior lecturer in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Christchurch School of Medicine and Health Sciences) has been appointed to the Ministry of Health's expert advisory group on mental health nursing. This is part of a project to develop a national strategic framwork for mental health nursing. The group is currently undertaking a stocktake and gap analysis of current mental health nursing initiatives, looking at what's working and what's not. Nurses are encouraged to fill in an online questionnaire, which will be co-ordinated by project manager and senior lecturer in mental health at the University of Auckland, Helen Hamer. The questionnaire is available at http://www.health.auckland.ac.nz/nursing/research/gapanalysis.html.
