Surprise loo role made me squirm.

Sarah Jane Potts

Sarah is enjoying national acclaim starring as hippie teenager Alice\alongside craggy Warren Clarke in The Locksmith on Thursdays on BBC1 (9.30pm).

Her acting success is a million miles away from her first job "working in a greasy spoon cafe".

She gave up her A-Levels to star in the controversial Screen One production Meat - where she says a rather embarrassing incident occurred!

Status: Single, although my boyfriend is actor Jason Done.

Qualifications: Ten GCSEs, six at A Grade.

Car: I can drive but I don't have a car.

Favourite soap/ soap character: Coronation Street/Bet Lynch.

Favourite other programme: Documentaries because it is truthful telly!

First-ever job: Working in a greasy spoon cafe in Bradford.

One job you would have loved: Teaching bungee jumping or some other "adrenaline-rushing" pastime.

Who makes you laugh? My mum.

Favourite movie star: Judy Garland.

Favourite all-time film: Nikita.

Favourite pop act: The Prodigy.

First/last record you bought: I was given the Beatles collection on vinyl, by my dad: Latest is Primal Scream's new album.

Describe yourself: Peaceful and neurotic.

Most embarrassing moment: While filming a movie called Meat for The BBC, I left my radio mike on when I went to the loo. The people on set heard everything.

Worst item of clothing ever bought: A grandad-style cardigan before they were fashionable.

What do you wear in bed? Nothing.

Favourite song and why: Brown-Eyed Girl by Van Morrison - it reminds me of my childhood when it was played a lot.

Favourite supermodel/heartthrob: I don't like supermodels - I don't think they are very good role models for girls who think they have to be super- slim to be fashionable.

Who has sex appeal and why? My boyfriend Jason - because he has!

All-time hero: Judy Garland.

What book are you reading at the moment? Down And Out In Paris And London by George Orwell

When was the last time you cried and why? When my boyfriend went off to Portugal to work.

What have you got in your handbag? Mobile phone, lipstick, tin full of tobacco for my roll-ups.

Favourite colour: Purple.

What is the most expensive treat you've ever bought yourself? Taking my boyfriend on holiday to Thailand.

When was the last time you were in hospital and why? After suffering concussion when I bashed my head while making a BBC film called Alison.

If you were an animal what sort of animal would you be? A monkey.

Where in the world would you live apart from the UK? Ireland - I feel a real sense of deja vu when I go there.

Which is the untidiest room in your home? All of them - the entire flat!

How do you relax? Try to get away from London, into the countryside - and getting drunk
