Surprise lake camp celebrates 100th anniversary. (Camp News).

Surprise Lake Camp, an ACA-accredited camp and the oldest Jewish resident camp in the country, is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2002. Larry King, Jerry Stiller, and Neil Diamond are among the alumni participating in the celebration. Festivities began in February and will last throughout the year with reunions in Israel and England. A gala is planned for March 23 in New York City. In addition to King and Stiller, Marjorie Wyler, Bud Seretean, Robert Abrams, Rabbi Peter Rubenstein of Central Synagogue, and Pete Seeger, a neighbor and close friend of the camp for decades, serve as honorary chairs for the centennial celebration.
