Surgery closure decision.
A DECISION whether to close a doctors surgery is expected next week amid concerns over GP recruitment.
Doctors at the Botwnnog Surgery have been reduced meaning there is not enough resource to adequately staff the Abersoch GP centre.
A Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board spokesman said: "The Health Board is aware that the Botwnnog GP Practice is going through the required engagement process with patients and other interested parties before its application to close the Abersoch branch surgery can be considered by the board.
"We recognise that some practices in North Wales have experienced difficulties in recruiting new doctors, which reflects a UK wide shortage of GPs."
He added: "We have raised our concerns with Welsh Government and the Deanery."
